Standing With Changes Part 2

This Year Changes is Celebrating it’s 35th Anniversary!

We’re humbled and thrilled to recognize this milestone, but more than anything we’re grateful for the opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate those who have been instrumental in making it possible.

Cristiana is the Salon and Spa Manager at Changes in Walnut Creek

Manager | Changes Salon & Day Spa

  1. Tell us about yourself: I have lived in Walnut Creek and the surrounding areas for over 20 years. I have worked at Changes for almost 22 years. When I am not at work I spend time with my friends, my puppy Freckles and eating as much yummy vegan food as possible!

  1. What made you apply to Changes? I was looking for a space to combine my years of Guest Service experience and my love for such a fun and creative industry. The salon world is in my blood (both my parents were Hairstylists). Changes was a great fit for my needs as a 19 year old college student and it has taken off over the last 2 decades.

  2. Tell us about your coworkers. Changes Team is filled with talented, creative, compassionate, and caring people that strive to make a difference each day.

  3. How have you seen Changes grow while you have worked here? Over my 21 years Changes has changed so much! Expansions, new services, new team..but the most exciting is seeing our Team Members grow professionally and personally. Professionally-Growing in their knowledge, skills and love for the industry. Personally-Growing their families, going on adventures and hitting meaningful milestones.

  4. What has been your most memorable moment while at Changes? My most memorable moments have been in Team Changes efforts to make a difference within the community. Between our events with STAND!, The Wellness Community Galas, Camping out for American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Team Changes love for the local community is so fulfilling to be part of and very heartwarming.

1. Do you see a technician on a regular basis and why have you continued to see them?
I’ve been coming to Changes for 35 years – since it opened. Caron has been cutting my hair for over 30 years. Caron and I have been through perms, highlighting, and finally, letting the gray show. And, I have to tell you, I get compliments on my hair and my haircut often.

2. What changes have you seen at our Salon and Spa while you have been a client here?
I’ve seen a lot of expanding and remodeling since Changes first opened, but what hasn’t changed is the warm and welcoming feeling I get every time I walk into Changes. And, it’s not that department store welcoming. When I walk into Changes I am greeted with the kindest welcome and often the Guest Service team knows my name and what I’m there for. I’m sure there are times they are busy and hurried, but no matter what they make you feel like you’re the only one who matters.

3. What word would you use to describe Changes?
I think if I had to use one word to describe Changes it would be “Welcoming”!

1. What makes you love your job at Changes?
I love my job at Changes because I am able to make my clients feel taken care of. Even if it’s just for a quick wax, or a longer facial service, they leave feeling rejuvenated and feeling good about themselves and that makes me happy.

2.Tell us about your coworkers.
My coworkers are the funniest, lively group of individuals I know. I spend most of my time smiling and laughing when I’m not with clients. Even when we are doing things like cleaning or restocking shelves, we have a good time doing it.

3.How have you seen Changes grow while you have worked here?
Across the board we have grown in services in the 5 years I’ve been here but especially in the skincare department. Adding elite services from Cosmedix and our custom Hydraderm treatment has changed the game of what results we can offer to our clientele. We offer more than just facials now, we are specializing in stronger corrective peels and high technology treatments.

4.How do you feel about the education you have received while at Changes?
We have endless opportunities of education at Changes. Whether it’s in house training, going to various trade shows, or our product line educators teaching us there are so many options. I love that we are supported in growing and constantly staying with the current trends and technologies.

5.What has been your most memorable moment at Changes?
I’ve had lots of memorable moments at Changes, but the one that stands out the most would be the day I became an educator. I was proud of myself for being on an education team next to other amazing Esthetician’s who had been working in this industry for 20+ years and was excited for the future of what I would bring to the department with a fresh outlook on skin and service offerings. I am proud of our department and the things we have accomplished in the last few years and can’t wait to see what the next years will bring!

1.Do you enjoy coming to Changes with anyone- or is this your “me time”?
Over the  many years that  I have been coming to Changes, it has been a destination of pleasure for myself. I now bring my daughter Lisa with me to give her a special pedicure treat. As I do not live in the area of Changes, I come for several miles, since the salon first opened.  Always looking forward to my special day. The friends that I have referred to Changes have been very pleased with the services as well.

2.Tell us about the technician you visit on a regular basis and why you continue to see them.
My technician Angela has been such a dear friend and seeing the owner, Bonnie is always a pleasure.

3.Three words to describe Changes:   Comfort, Immaculate, Enjoyable
